Who We Are
Founded in 2021, Let Students Think is a student-led organization dedicated to initiating discussions about CRT (Critical Race Theory) and its implementation in public school education and promoting academic freedom.
Let Students Think aims to be a platform for all students to learn about CRT and diversity learning, and help students make decisions for themselves on what education they want to receive.
Critical Race Theory (CRT) has become a controversial subject in education in the past year. Numerous states and education policymakers are debating on the educational implications of CRT and whether it should be kept out of the classroom. In the status quo, all arguments regarding CRT are driven by parents and politicians, not students. The voice of students is being neglected in an issue that affects students and their rights to education the most. In this regard, Let Students Think aims to encourage active student-led discussion on CRT and help students make their own, informed decisions.
Let Students Think is neither for nor against CRT. What we support is academic freedom; having students and teachers choose what to learn, instead of being overpowered by the political and personal opinions of adults. We serve to be a platform for students to receive unbiased and updated information on CRT, share their opinions with other students, and be supported when students want to voice their opinions to their school district or school board.
